Quick Sticks Hair Colour
At-home hair colour needn’t mean booking out an entire afternoon to get it looking just right. A favourite DIY hair-colour range that’ll save you oodles of time is L’Oreal Paris’s Excell10, R135 per box. The colour takes only 10 minutes to develop, covering grey and enhancing shine. Choose your application technique: for coloured hair, split your time into two five minutes sessions (five minutes on the roots and then another five with the colour mixture distributed through your lengths and ends) and for uncoloured simply apply and comb the colour mix through your whole head and leave for a max of 10 minutes. For both methods, finish off by simply rinsing and then conditioning with the Cashmere Balm supplied in the box. Call 011 286 0700 for stockiists.
Multi-Tasking Mask
A great tip I picked up at a Dermalogica Face Mapping session this week is to mix weekly treatment masks – especially during winter. And by mix, I mean combine two power-masks for one super-charged DIY treatment. Dermalogica Educator Taryn Norton suggested mixing up the Skin Hydrating Masque, R480 (great for dehydration no matter what your skin type) and MultiVitamin Power Recovery Masque, R560 (a good dose of anti-aging antioxidants). The result? Comfy skin with great glow. I’m going to be a good girl and commit to this at-home treatment twice a week – and the best bit is I can whip it off after just 10 minutes. Perfect Paws Pronto
Dry, irritated skin is often thanks to winter chills. I’m loving Crabtree & Evelyn’s Citron, Honey and Coriander Hand Therapy Collection which will help take a few years off your paws. Think natural ingredients such as sugar and pea extracts to help even out your skin tone and also a blend of antioxidants as well as moisturizing shea butter, sweet almond and jojoba oils. If you only have 10 minutes, exfoliate your skin with the Scrub Cleanser, R260 (gently buff into skin in small circular movements) and then rinse, dry and massage in a little Hand Remedy, R280. Wrap your hands in a heated towel, leave for a few minutes and then when times up, rub in any excess. Call +27 11 704 6096 for stockists.
