How to protect your skin this summer
If you're spending your holidays with a Frisbee in hand or enjoying the rush of extreme adventure, then I suggest a little sports-proof protection...
Rule One:
Remember being active will make more demands on your sunscreen as upping your heart rate under the heat of the sun will of course lead to perspiration. So, choose a sunscreen that's sweat resistant so you're not left without protection.
Rule Two:
Stock up on mini-sized, pocket protection. Make sun protection lightweight and easy to carry if you're running seaside or mountain biking in the bush. Pocket-sized sun protection sticks are my best choice as you'll need to reapply your sunscreen often if you're exposing your skin for any length of time.
Rule Three:
Prevent breakouts by choosing oil-free sun-care in the texture your skin likes the best (if you're oily naturally, opt for a gel or lotion). And keep your skin as clean as you can by decanting your facial cleanser and making sure you wash your face and neck morning and evening.
Rule Four:
This is a great tip for sensitive skins, but applies to all sun exposed skins as well: take cool showers throughout the day to calm and de-itch your post-workout bod. Wash with a rehydrating shower oil to further soothe stripped skin.
