being sick and exercising
Q: Ok To Hit The Gym With A Cold?
A: This is a very common question around this time of year. And can be very frustrating to miss out on training when you are sick. I would suggest to always get checked out by a doctor before exercising with a cold. However, it is generally accepted that if it is just a cold (upper respiratory tract infection) and not flu you can still train.
It does also depend on how you are feeling and sometimes going to the gym seems more bearable than doing a cardio session. Listen to your body as well so that you do not push yourself too hard. Be aware that the presence of a fever is also reason not to exercise.
Other illnesses like chest infections and flu will prohibit you from exercising due to the strain this will place on your heart and lungs if you exercise with these conditions.
I would also suggest that you lower the intensity of the exercise if you are going to train with a cold. Perhaps do a lighter gym session or a yoga or Pilates session as opposed to a high intensity cardio session.

Thank you so much for this Q&A...
Just the advise i needed. Going to go to gym but take it slow
