Every year it's the same routine. Winter comes and we tend to let go of ourselves, what with all the hot chocolate, soups and breads. Then when spring arrives we are scrambling to get back into shape to fit into our bikinis for December. And then by the time December arrives, there are always Christmas parties and social events to knock us down again.

So, why not rather start getting into shape and healthy routines now? When spring comes around you will already be in a good routine and be well on your way to looking stunning in that bikini! I know it's still dark and cold in the early mornings and late afternoons but here are a couple of tips to get you up and about.

Set a time to train and stick to it
So if you normally train in the morning before work, then start getting into that routine again. Yes it's going to be dark and cold but force yourself to do it. The first time is going to be tough, but it will start getting easier the more you do it.

Find a training buddy
This way there will be someone holding you accountable to get up on those cold, dark mornings. It's always easier to not train if you're only letting yourself down…

Start making healthy changes to your diet now
Stay away from all the winter goodies. Start adding salads and more fruit to your diet

Join a gym/group class/spinning class
If you are definitely not one for the cold then join a gym or spinning class so you can train and still be indoors

It's never easy to get back into training, but once you are in your routine it does get a bit easier and will definitely be worth it!
