Weight Loss
Herbal products and weight loss
Are natural weight-loss products safe and effective?
Q: Are natural or herbal weight-loss products safe and effective to use?
A: Be very careful. A weight-loss product that claims to be "natural" or "herbal" is not necessarily safe. These products are very often not scientifically tested to prove that they are safe or that they actually work. Before deciding to use a "natural" or "herbal" weight-loss product, talk to a registered dietitian of your doctor. Some natural or herbal weight-loss products can be harmful, but safe and alternative ones are available on our South African market.

hi
What is Ephedrine? - is it safe - can a pregnant or lactating woman take a product containing this?
thanks
HI There...
Stay away from Ephedrine, especially if you are pregnant or lactating. It increases your heartrate. There are soooo many side effects. It affects your nervous system, heart, kidneys, respitory system, your skin (acne, pimples) and so much more. If you are really keen on using it, I suggest you google the side effects of this product. I used it when I trained alot, but honestly it made me irritable, and so on. Overdose can lead to death. The best way to maintain or loose weight is by excersicing and eating healthy. I train 3-4 times a week, eat healthy and feel great.
Weight loss occurs when an individual is in a state of negative energy balance: when the body is exerting more energy, it will use stored reserves from fat or muscle, gradually leading to weight loss. Thanks.
