First things first, you need to be able to identify your skin type. At the end of the day, do you have a reasonable amount of shine on your skin? If so, then you tend towards an oily skin type.

If, at the end of the day, it is only your t-panel (forehead, nose and chin) that is oily but your cheeks are fine, then you have combination skin tone.

If you wash your face and it feels very tight and uncomfortable immediately after you have washed it, then you have dry skin. If your skin prickles easily when you apply any make-up or unusual (not what you usually wear) skin care products, then you have sensitive skin.

All moisturisers are labelled accordingly and, most importantly, there needs to be a built in SPF of at least 15 in the moisturiser you choose.
