How to calorie count
Q: How do I Calculate How Many Calories I Eat?
A: Calculating the amount of calories could sometimes be quite a challenge. If you buy products with labels, you’ll see that they print the energy value of that product on the back of the packaging (per 100g of the product or per serving). This will give you a good idea of all bought products, if you add this up as you are eating throughout the day. The problem is that we eat so many things without labels that also have an energy value such as fruit, vegetables, homemade biscuits etc...
In these cases, I suggest you search for that specific item’s energy value on the internet. Books are also available on calorie counting that give you detailed lists of all available foods and their energy value that could be of help to you.

I have heard that counting calories is a effective way in which to loose weight. I would like to find out how much calories I would be burning with certain activities such as rowing, running, cycling of swimming. Is there an index which I can use that can give me a general idea? Secondly I would like to know how much calories I should be taking in daily. How can I calculate that amount?
How do you work out the products calories if the product available is only giving the kj. Shouldn't we be working on kcal for calories?
you can convert kj to calories by multiplying kj with 0.22 - this gives a rounabout calorie value.
Calorie counting is the only effective way to burn fat - or at least the only solutions i've ever found
its actually Kj divided by 4.2 gives you the calories
example: apple is 340kjs
so it is 340kjs DIVIDED by 4.2 = 80.9 calories
