Weight Loss
How to lose weight the right way
Getting Your Mind Right to Lose Weight
The first obstacle to successfully losing weight is you. Many of my clients that I see are usually referred by a doctor for weight loss. This means that many people are not yet mentally ready to lose weight as they feel that they are being pressured. The first step to successful weight loss is to make the commitment.
It takes time and effort to lose weight and one has to be 100 percent committed to achieving your goal. Family and friends need to offer emotional support; losing weight is a team effort.
If the people closest to you don’t give you the encouragement you so rightly deserve, then your weight-loss plan is doomed from the beginning. Be realistic on your weight loss goals. It is unrealistic to say that you can achieve 10kg weight loss in the first month. It is more realistic to lose 0.5 to 1kg per month.
Write smart objectives for losing weight on a piece of paper. That is specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and trackable goals. An example of this would be to reduce your kilojoules by 1000 kilojoules per day and logging your kilojoule intake in the form of a food diary. Remember losing weight is challenging but it can be achieved by positive thinking and dedication.

I recently started gumming and I was feeling great until I got on the scale... I gained 5kg how is that possible. Now I gym with a constant fear of am I gaining wait or loosing it.
I have been on a low carb diet for about 3 weeks now and have been very good. I am very depressed cause to date i have lost no kgs!!!! Why could this be??? I need help cause i am feeling very despondent. To make things worse my hubby has lost 8 kgs, i know they loose quicker but its still not fair. Could i be doing something wrong???
Rather don't cut out of carbs...you need them for energy. Eat good carbs instead of bad...go brown not white basically! Try walking 3 times of week...
I found that my body went into shock when I went from 'normal' food to salad - so what happened was everything I ate that wasn't a lettuce leaf my body stored. If you're still struggling in 3 weeks give a dietician a call...they give great advise (like the stuff I was saying) on getting started!

1. muscle weighs more than fat
2. human nature to eat more when "gymming" so watch your mouth....you probably eating more = weigh more...or building muscle ( which temporary retains a little water)
3. There are thousands of diets out there....find one that suits you....you are not your husband
4. Scientifically proven that low cab = mood swings
5. Focus on health not looks....your body will land up looking better...in the long term
6. "Remember losing weight is challenging but it can be achieved by positive thinking and dedication"
Good Luck
