how to save your hair from old age
Q: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow?
Q: Will my hair age like my mom's? I'm worried it's going to thin and lose it's shine as I get older.
A: Yes, like your skin, there's a link genetically between your hair and your mom's that's difficult to alter. But that doesn't mean that you can't change the way it's going to look in 20 years time.
For example, think of the colour technology you're using on your hair versus what your mom used when she was your age. There's no need to be using ammonia heavy products anymore that strip hair, changing the way it looks and feels. While gentler colour systems are a must other youth-boosting tricks for your tresses include washing it every day (it's a complete myth that this is bad for your hair) and investing in good quality shampoos and conditioners.
Also commit to keeping your scalp healthy, adding a scalp mask into your haircare routine once every two weeks. And as you get older, it's totally ok to keep your hair in a longer style as long as you're investing time in taking care of it so it looks shiny and healthy.

Hello beauty junkies, I’m Helen, a contributing editor for WH and a beauty journalist – a dream job that I’ve had for the past five years. While I’ve always been make-up obsessed, I’m a naturalist; I love make-up that’s completely wearable rather than make-up that completely wears you. I love to share and will be sharing my best new beauty finds and user-friendly tips with you.
