It is difficult for any women to juggle work, family, going to gym and then on top of it all still have to worry about our weight and following a healthy diet. It's very easy to get back into nasty habits and the routine of quick, not so nutritious meals, just to get supper on the table.

I came to a realisation this week, after coming home late from gym and still having to cook supper, I slowly slipped back into my bad habits. Before my wedding I was disciplined with my diet and meal plan, but now I have become complacent.

One of the biggest barriers to healthy eating is time constraints; this is definitely true especially with our busy schedules. What saved me this week was the fact that I had leftovers in the freezer, which I could defrost. To save time I buy groceries twice a month, to prevent me from running to the shops everyday and being tempted from buying convenience items. Prepare extra food while you are cooking which you can freeze and reheat on days when you don’t have time to cook. Buy pre-packed salads and vegetables to save you time, or use frozen vegetables.

I have kept my lunch tins very simple and standard so that even my husband can help prepare lunch in the mornings. Quick and easy time saving routines can help to keep you on track with your weight-loss plan, it just involves some creativity.
