If you thought sex was "finished at 50," as the old saying goes, take a look at the latest research and you'll put that cliché to rest. The National Council on Aging found that nearly half of the men and women over age 60 who were surveyed considered their current sex life equally or more emotionally satisfying than it was in their forties...

A Harris Interactive Survey found that more than 80 percent of menopausal women and their partners surveyed considered sex to be an important part of their lives. There is reason to believe sex only gets better as we age; often, the concerns that consumed us when we were younger – like self-consciousness, a poor body-image, or performance anxiety – melt away as we come into our own later in life.

However, there's always room for improvement. An AARP survey found that women believe less stress would improve their sex lives more than anything else, while men feel that better health would boost their sexual satisfaction. Take note now and reap the benefits of later-life sex by minimising its challenges. You're never too old for fantastic sex!
