Should you take diet pills?
The Lowdown on Weight-Loss Pills
Hi, I am Charlene, your weight-loss expert – at your service. I really want to start this blog off with a topic that I think many women are confused about – weight-loss pills. As women we often find it really hard to loose those extra kilos, whether it's for an upcoming wedding, that 10-year school reunion or maybe just to fit into that new bikini. Some women might choose eating healthier and putting a few more extra sessions at the gym. Other women may decide to try a ‘quick fix’ such as taking weight-loss pills or trying the latest 'fad diet' on the market. Before you decide to spend your well earned cash please consider the following...
Weight-loss products are not regulated in South Africa, which means that companies can falsely claim benefits of the product without having to substantiate the claims with scientific proof.
Weight-loss products are not put through the same rigorous standards that prescription pills and medication are put through. Therefore you are taking the pill at your own risk as the effectiveness and safety of the pill cannot be guaranteed.
Be careful of 'too good to be' true claims as they are just clever marketing gimmicks.
Weight-loss products contain a variety of ingredients, of which the interactions with each other are not known. This could cause unwanted side effects and interact with other medications.
The bottom line is that the only safe and scientific proven way to lose weight is to follow a low-kilojoule diet and exercise.

Well said!
i have spend way too much money on this pill and that, believing that the next one IS actually going to work. As i love food & dislike feeling ill and weak, starving myself did not work either. i must have read every "miracle" weight loss article and advert you can find on the internet.
What is actually working for me at the moment? What i didn't want to hear or believe as it just sounded like to much hard work & not "spectacular" enough.... i am now on a low calorie diet and have started exercising 2 to 3 times a week.
The exercise has given me more energy & I look forward to that hour 2 or three times a week when it is My Time, doing something that makes me feel good.
The low calorie diet is not that hard, i am lucky in the sense that i like vegetables, fruit, fish & that i can live without bread. It is just about making healthy choices & you will be amazed how much you can lower your calorie intake with just swopping certain foods for others, or changing to fat free milk, cutting out the coke, white bread, cheese and mayonaise!
i do have a helping hand or two though, one is a herbal appetite suppressant (i found one that works for me) and number two: i spend 2 minutes every morning entering my food/calories on a website which has a free calorie/kilojoule tracker. Seeing how many calories you had for breakfast or lunch and how many is left for the day motivates you not to consume more calories than you should.
Women's Health is just a great motivator & help with all the advice, tips & exercises!
hi - i'm a firm believer in good nutrition, making correct choices. a frind has come across simply slim - & i don't mean to bash a weight loss product - it contains (mind the spelling:)) ephederines? but claims it's 100% natural. sure they're losing weight but I don't agree with it. what are the long term effects of using ephederines?..
thanks
I have used Simply slim with great results and no side effects, but the at a cost of R590 it was getting a bit much. Luckely I found a similar product called NuEvo ( I found it at www.salondearte.webs.com) at R350-00 and I am still experiencing great results
hi- i don't believe on crush diets and all, i'm a gym person. But since it was a festive i've gain a little weight, somebody told me about the Metabolism diet and want to try it for 14 days, is it healthy? i need something to detox before i go back to my normal routine.
I desperately need to loose weight, I do 30 mins aerobics at home and eat lots of vegetables and fruits, with plently of water.

Hi
We were a group of friends who tried Simply Slim and what a bad experience. Sooooo many side effects and sick all the time.
I lost weight with a healthy diet and gyming and through this I inproved my heart condition. More energy and lots of fun with my family and friends.
Hi Any body out there used Studio SLim. (www.salondearte.webs.com) I see it does not have the bitter orange extract (pseudo effedrine?) does it work, anyside effects?
Hi all,
I myself have tried quite a few pills, some work but you could never sustain weight loss this way. I started eating less and moving more, this really helped. I believe that running is the best way to lose weight!
I must admit that I do seek something that will assist my weight loss and help with my energy levels as I gym 4-5 times per week, and this causes me to be extremely tired during the day ! I started taking USN Phedra-Cut XT and CLA. This has really helped me get more energy, control my cravings and tone up! I have not had any bad side effects, except the first two days I was not familiar with all the energy:)
I am using this together with a lot of exercise, and of course no sweets, chips, cold drink or chocolate Nesquik! I love eating, so diets are a real pain for me as I simply can't stick to one - I have really tried it! That's why I have decided to just cut back on all the junk food, especially chocolates and chips, and only eat my 3 meals a day whihc aren't just chicken and veg!! This together with the products and moving have really helped me to get where I want to be!
Hope this advice is helpful to someone!!
