This summer is bringing with it some extreme hemlines. We're going to be veering between the micro mini and the floor sweeping maxi... Neither style is particularly easy to wear though, so how should you go about it without looking like a lady of the night, or a straight-laced Mormon?

The Maxi
So many women are intimidated by the maxi-dress. You don't have to look like you're going to a Matric dance, especially if you add some every day twists. Tone down a sweeping hemline with flat sandals or bring a floaty, ethereal dress back to earth with a chunky pair of clogs or boots. Maxi dresses can also look great with an over-sized boyfriend blazer or cropped denim jacket. We wear ours with both, depending on the mood we're in.
Mixing the dramatic look of a long hemline with a few less feminine touches, like a heavy pair of boots or a chunky vintage belt, makes the whole look more modern. Try it and tell us, we'd love to know how you wear yours...

The Mini
It's not so much skirts but shorts that are taking this summer by storm. Denim shorts are back with a vengeance and we are more than happy about it, because they're so versatile and can literally be worn with anything to anywhere at anytime. So, if you don't have any get out a pair of scissors and attack that old pair of jeans you never wear any more. If you don't have old jeans, they're literally everywhere, so shop around for a pair you like. When the weather is colder, you can wear them with tights and boots or trainers. When it's hot, flip flops and a vest. To dress up shorts, pair them with heels and a cropped or boyfriend blazer. We just love the thought of wearing them with a vintage blazer, heels and a cute pair of ankle socks. A brave look, we know, but in our heads we look great! Now if only the weather would heat up...
