Need to Lose Weight for Your Wedding?
I saw post via facebook on the Women’s Health site that they would like to lose weight for their wedding day. I got married in December and I had to drop a dress size to fit into my wedding dress. I went wedding dress shopping in July 2009, and it was one size too small, but I instantly knew that this was the dress I wanted to wear on my wedding day, so I bought it…
This meant that I had six months to drop a dress size. Yes I do know how to lose weight very quickly being a dietician, but it was still very hard for me. In that six-month period I moved to another province, changed my job and moved into a new house as well as trying to complete my Master’s degree. Now that kind of stress can affect anyone’s eating habits.
I realised that I had to put into action what I preached to my clients on a daily basis. I only really started putting my plan into action when it was October. I went jogging every morning along the beachfront for 45 minutes, woke up an hour earlier and went to gym at least four times a week.
Six weeks before my wedding I went jogging twice a day. I decreased my portion sizes substantially and something small ate every three hours. I still included my starches, but ensured that they were complex starches, if not I ensured I incorporated high-fibre foods with the starch.
In short I lost eight kilograms. It is possible to do, you have to be focused and have a goal. Mine was to fit into my wedding dress.

woman im proud of you.
