Vitamin water and its benefits
Water VS Vitamin-Added Water?
Is flavoured water with added vitamins healthier than plain water?
Some bottled water products are fortified with various vitamins and other additives (for flavour and colour) and most also have sweeteners that add kilojoules.
If you're eating a healthy diet you'll be getting all the vitamins and minerals you need, as well as the other goodness found in healthy foods, and you're not likely to benefit from drinking flavoured water with added vitamins.
If you're trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy body weight, the kilojoules in the water with vitamins will work against you. As always, check the label for ingredients.
Bottom Line: Fruits, vegetables and other whole foods are the best sources of vitamins and minerals. And plain water remains the healthiest, kilojoule-free drink. If you find it difficult to drink plain water, try sparkling water or add a squirt of lemon, orange or cranberry juice to your water.
