We love to hate Movember. I know I do. It's for a good cause, but it causes your man to transform into someone out of That 70's Show. But you should encourage your man to do the right thing, even if you'll be sacrificing for the cause because it will make him aware of prostate cancer.
The Facts Are:
The lifetime risk for men developing prostate cancer in South Africa is one in 23.
And so, men from age 15 to 40 years of age need to examine their testicles each month, preferably after a bath or shower, to feel for any pea-sized lumps that could indicate testicular cancer. Men over the age of 50 need to go for simple screening tests each year to check if they might have prostate cancer, which is the most common cancer among men in South Africa and globally.
Get him to register with Movember South Africa now and make him check for those lumps too!
CANSA's regional office for Cape Town (Cape Metro) wishes to thank all the crazy Mo Bros for turning November into Movember! We had lots of fun engaging with Mo Bros who got involved by growin' their mo's, hosting Movember events across Cape Town. I spent some time at Bowling For Movember on Sun 29th Movember (now in it's 2nd year) at the Fresnaye Bowling Club hosted by Sean Gomes of Wellness Warehouse & Erik Booysen of Swinprop as well as the Movember Golf day out at the King David Golf Club on the 27th Movember hosted by David Williams-Ashman from Ashman Attorneys. Thanks for the good vibes, good music, good food, good prizes, good sponsors, good peripheral activities - massages & drinks by Loaded (you have to try this amazingly tasty smoothie Loaded with all the good stuff). See you and yo' mo's next year bro's xxx Love & Regards, Adeliah Jacobs (CANSA Cape Metro 021 689 5347)
