A German man sent a letter and $3 to the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong, asking the journo to please send his wife a card for her 80th birthday. He said his wife feels very alone, and as though she has no friends left in the world.

Hell, it's my birthday today and people have been so damn nice to me. How can I refuse? I'll send her a card tomorrow.
