Organic Markets in South Africa
Farmers’ markets are great places to pick up fresh fruit and veggies. Here's a list of markets we have found.
Farmers’ markets are great places to pick up fresh fruit and veggies – and usually all sorts of delicious homemade treats, too. The veggies sold at markets are often grown without pesticides or herbicides and contain more nutrients – which means they’re good for your bod. Check out our list for a market in your area, and please let us know if you can recommend any to add to this list.

Thanks for this info. I just wish people would stop labeling their food "organic" just so they can pump up the prices.
Bryanston Organic market has about 3 organic stalls, which are SO expensive, and the rest of it is taken up by all sorts of other expensive fleamarkety type things. Its a real crock. I really wish people would stop advertising it as an organic market, it should be a knick knack market with a couple of stalls of veg, and a stall where you can buy a loaf of bread for R30.....!!!!!
Whether it is organic or not, buying goods from a farmer's market is still way better for you and the environment then getting the cheap version from your store which actually travels 1000's of kilometres to get there. Check out this video.

There's also a farm market in Langenhoven Park, Bloemfontein. They've been there for years and prices are very affordable.
Also once a month there's an organic market at Nitida wine farm, outside Durbanville, Northen Cape. They have a big lawn with jungle gym and it makes for a great outing for the family with children.
