We all need a treat once in a while, and hell what's life without good old comfort food. Right? But you don't have to sacrifice your waistline to enjoy it. The Guilt-Free Hamburger
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
170 grams extra-lean ground beef (95%)
1 egg white, lightly beaten
3 Tbsp tomato sauce
3 Tbsp finely chopped onion
1 Tbsp wholewheat bread crumbs
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp minced parsley
1 tsp minced thyme
Dash garlic powder
8 wholewheat buns
Method
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a cooling rack on top. Spray lightly with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine beef, egg white, 1 1/2 Tbsp tomato sauce, onions, bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, thyme, garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Use your hands to mix everything together.
Divide meat into eight thin patties and place on prepared rack. Brush with remaining tomato sauce. Bake for 20 minutes.
Place patties in buns and serve.
Per serving: 1200 kilojoules, 6g fat (1g sat fat), 38g carbs, 2g fiber, 500mg sodium, 20g protein
