Steak And Chips

Food Maths: NoMu rub + Olive Oil Spray + McCain Real Ovenbake Chips
Serves 2

What You Need
400g rump steak
Olive oil Spray
1 ½ tbsp NoMu Beef or Barbecue rub
Sea salt flakes and freshly ground black pepper
300g McCain Real Ovenbake Chips

To Serve:
Green beans

Method
Cook the chips according to packet instruction. Spray the rump lightly with olive oil spray, press on the rub and season. Heat a grill pan over highest heat. Add the rump and cook for five minutes; turn and cook for another five minutes. Turn onto one of the thinner sides and cook for three minutes; turn onto the other thin side and cook for a further three minutes. Rest for eight minutes. (This is for a three-centimetre-thick piece of rump; if yours is thinner, reduce the cooking time to three to four minutes per large side.) Blanche the beans; add to rapidly boiling salted water and cook until bright green and just tender. Plunge into ice water to stop the cooking process and then drain. Using the stalk for leverage, pull in half lengthways. Serve the steak with the chips and green beans.

Tip: Alternatively, use 2 x 200g sirloin steaks.

To make garlicky green beans to serve with the steaks, peel and finely chop four cloves of garlic and top, tail and halve the beans. Heat a little olive oil in a pan and cook the garlic on a low heat until softened. Remove the garlic, add the beans, season well and cook over medium-low heat until tender. Add the garlic and cook briefly, tossing with the beans, and serve.
