UPWARD FACING DOG POSE
Upward Facing Dog
Urdvha Mukha Svanasana
Benefits: Strengthens back, arms; stretches chest, abs; keeps spine flexible
Helps: Back strength, poor posture, depression, low energy
- Lie facedown, tops of your feet on the mat. Bend your elbows and spread your palms on the floor beside your lower ribs.
- Now push up, straightening your arms, without locking your elbows, and lifting both your legs and upper body into the air.
- Broaden across your collarbones, lift your sternum, and slide your shoulder blades down your back. Keep your elbows in, close to your sides, and move your upper arms back away from your chest.
