A ‘Butt Facial’ Might Just Be The Must-Have Beauty Treatment For Summer

A facial… for your butt… not your face. But, why?

A facial… for your butt… not your face. But, why?

Let’s think for a second about what the purpose of having a facial is. It’s to get that skin smooth and glowing. To make your skin look amazing. It’s no wonder that with beach season looming we’d want to focus on illuminating and smoothing other parts of our body that’ll be on display, am I right?

So I’m calling the treatment I went for a butt facial. What technically did I have done? A skincare CooLifting treatment using CoolCell serum.

What exactly is CooLifting?

It’s a go-to treatment for the likes of Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton, according to the Laser Beautique — who offer the treatment. Also known as the “Hollywood beauty Gun”, the CooLifting laser is a non-invasive treatment which rejuvenates skin. It combines a unique concentration of hyaluronic acid and other botanicals with a cold, CO2 (carbon dioxide) spray directly onto the skin. The cool CO2 mist helps the hyaluronic solution to saturate more completely and deeply into your skin, increasing its impact.

How does it work?

While each of the two parts of the CooLifting process can be effective by themselves, they work better together. Skin exposed to high concentrations of carbon dioxide naturally responds by releasing more oxygen to the area, giving it a plumped appearance — all according to the team at the Laser Beautique. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring chemical in your body that helps replenish moisture and promotes healing. During CooLifting, the cool CO2 mist activates the serum to penetrate more deeply than it could on its own.

Why do this facial treatment on the butt and thigh area? Because it can also reduce the appearance of cellulite! Click here for more info on the science behind CooLifting.

The “Butt Facial” experience:

My therapist asked me to drop my pants and began looking for “problem areas”.

To be honest, I started getting my first glimpses of “orange peel” as a teenager. You know when you squash your skin on your thighs in search of having a grown-up ailment? Well, only too soon was no more squashing of skin needed. Throughout my twenties and thirties I’ve bounced between skinny to chubby to fit. The fit part only really came about in my later twenties and early thirties (I’m now 33). And throughout I’ve always had bits of cellulite around my thighs and bum. I’m fairly toned and strong and I wouldn’t call it a problem or even super noticeable in my bedroom mirror. But in the glaring bright light of summer on a beach, it’s there.

Back to the pants-dropping… I don’t like calling any part of my body a “problem area”, so I felt suddenly self-conscious while my therapist inspected my butt cheeks.

We agreed to work on a small area where the cheek curve meets the upper thigh. Watch the video below to see how it went…

The post-facial “glow”

So, my skin was glowing and looked pretty smooth afterwards. The truth is, in order to notice a real difference, you need to book a series of treatments. The Laser Beautique says that you should see an immediate luminosity to the skin. And notice a lifting/tightening effect within 12 to 24 hours of the treatment. Clients who sign up for a package of three treatments, followed by monthly follow-ups, will see substantial improvement over time.

The CooLifting treatments are regularly done for actual face facials. The results are a more radiant facial appearance and an attenuation of fine wrinkle lines.
