If you’re a woman then you’re probably aware that our bodies can do some pretty incredible things — like give birth, break fitness records and beat the odds when battling life-threatening illnesses like breast cancer.

But, how much do you really know about your body? If someone asked you to describe what your milk duct looks like, would you be able to give them an answer?

The answer is likely no, right? This image of the female anatomy has gone viral on Twitter and it may help to educate you a little on what your breast muscles really look like.

The tweet, which was posted on Sunday by user @lemonaded, has captured everyone’s attention. So far the tweet has gained 34 334 Likes and 44 118 Retweets with everyone agreeing that they had no idea what exactly milk ducts looked like, either.

To the human eye, the ducts form a circle of overlapping ovals connected by thin lines of tubes leading into the centre of the breast, or the nipple (almost like a flower).

Many Twitter users tweeted their shock at the image:

Others said it was beautiful:

Another expressed their sadness at not having been taught more about the female anatomy at a younger age:

If you didn’t know, your milk ducts, otherwise known as the lactiferous ducts, are the thin tubes that enable you to transport breast milk from the glandular tissue of your breast, where it is produced, out to your nipple.

Our bodies are amazing, right?!
