Here’s a convenient way to boost your health and get all those nutrients first thing in the morning: vegetable smoothies recipes using McCain frozen vegetables, just like Takkies!

Spinach is low in fat, high in good-for-you fibre (which helps aid digestion) and it contains iron, which helps boost energy and keep your blood and heart healthy. Add half a cup of McCain Garden Spinach to your next smoothie for an awesome healthy boost.

The Detoxifying Smoothie

— ½ cup McCain Garden Spinach
— ½ cup McCain Baby Peas
— 200ml apple juice
— 10 fresh mint leaves
— 1 cup chopped cucumber
— Squeeze fresh lime juice
— Ice (optional)

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth. Garnish with fresh mint and cucumber.

Get Your Glow On Smoothie

— 1 cup McCain Garden Spinach
— 1 banana
— 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
— ½ avocado
— 150 coconut water

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth.

Top tip: The combination of spinach (vitamin A), avocado (healthy good-for-you fats) and pumpkin seeds (which contain magnesium for improved mood and sleep, and manganese, which plays a role in collagen production and promotes skin health), means you get all the nutrients you need for a healthy, glowing skin.

Dreaming Of Summer Smoothie

— 1/3 cup McCain Garden Spinach
— 1/2 cup McCain Green Beans
— 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
— 2/3 cup cubed fresh pineapple
— 200ml coconut water

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth.

Top tip: When bulking up your smoothie with extra veggies, add some fruit to create balance in taste and texture instead of other sweeteners. Pineapple is a nutritious and sweet-sour fruit that works well here. You can also try melon or mango instead.
