You Can Wear These Ankle Boots In Every Season — Actually, Every Day
Love ankle boots but didn’t think you could wear them outside of autumn? Actually, you can. I walked these CAT ankle boots through a week of Cape Town weather – renowned for it’s “four seasons in one day” fickleness. And guess what? Nailed it.
Day 1. Dressed up, but oh-so comfy down below
I decided to start out with what I know… This is a typical office get-up for me. I felt really comfortable and chose a black top for the outfit to match the black boots.
Ed’s note: Not a fan of airy heels? Boots are the perfect way to look formal, without compromising on comfort.
Day 2: Um… Check out what they do for my legs!!
I usually wear jeans to work, so I wanted to try the boots with something more feminine. I thought they went really well with this dress and received several compliments on the outfit!
Ed’s note: She’s being coy. Just look at how greeeeeeat those pins look!
Day 3: Feminine, but edgy
Another good match, picking up the black from the skirt. The boots definitely added a cool edge to the skirt.
Ed’s note: Pairing the boots with a sundress (or skirt in this case) is an easy way to make them work for warmer weather.
Day 4: Lace-ups mid-summer. Totally doable…
Proving that ankle boots can be worn in all weather, I paired them with shorts on a very warm Saturday. It worked out so well!
Ed’s note: An unexpected pairing, but a good one if you’ve found the perfect boots. Which Leigh clearly has…
Day 5: Nothing wrong with exposing a little skin
To be honest, I didn’t like that I had to roll the jeans up, as the cuff didn’t quite fit into the boot. The look was fine, though – just not my favourite.
Ed’s note: Although Leigh prefers a rolled down hem, this is a really cool look for summer. Boots with exposed ankles takes them soaring to weather-appropriate heights.
Day 6: My fave look of them all
I really liked this outfit. It was a cold, blustery day and I loved the fit of the boots with the more wintery vibe. They also felt great with tights.
Day 7: Drum roll
A complete departure for me, but one I thought looked pretty great in the end! I was comfortable and thought the boots looks right at home alongside my workout gear.
Ed’s note: Leigh’s putting the luxe in sport luxe here – and it works. Love.
