7 Amazing Body Benefits Of A 1-Hour Adventure Boot Camp Class
Ever wondered what one hour of boot camp can do for you? A lot, it turns out. Here are just seven of the body benefits you’ll gain in just 60 mins, according to Adventure Boot Camp qualified personal trainer Anita van der Meulen.
1. It’ll Pump Your Heart Rate Right Up
Why is this good? Increasing your heart rate even a little fries kilojoules and most of those come from fat storage which, ting ting ting – you guessed it – results in weight loss. What’s more, it improves your stamina and recovery abilities. You’ll be able to work out for longer and recover in less time than before. Plus: It’s good for you! A healthier heart means a healthier body. By increasing your heart rate for just an hour a day, you can decrease your cholesterol levels, and by that we mean the bad kind. Work it for a better inside and outside.
2. You’ll Burn Up To 500 Calories In 60 Minutes
Raising your heart rate and getting that bod moving for just one hour can result in up to 500 calories (or 2 000kJ) being burnt. Adventure Boot Camp is set up so that you work out Monday to Friday, morning or evening, for four weeks (but you won’t want to stop there). Stick to this and you’ll have burnt around 10 000 calories (42 000kj) by the end of the month! Hello long-term weight loss and centimetres disappearing from your waist. 3. You’ll Increase Overall Body Strength
Okay, this one is pretty obvious, but yes, a workout a day means the muscles come out to play. This doesn’t only mean you’ll get a nice bum (well, that too), but a strong body means fewer injuries. Not only are your muscles getting strong, but your ligaments and tendons are too. Even your bones. All the body benefits right here…
4. It’ll Amp Up Your Cardiovascular Fitness
Cardiovascular fitness is basically how your body uses oxygen while you work out – so, the way your heart, lungs, muscles and blood all work together. As you get fitter, the more effective this entire system will be. In short, you get better at breathing – but there’s more to it than that. Not only does it speed you up while performing other forms of exercise such as running or cycling, it also means that you’re “keeping the engine clean” – in other words, lowering your blood pressure and your chances of diabetes, stroke and heart disease.
5. You’ll Score Major Body Toning
And when those muscles come out to play, so does a toned bod. Boot camp moves are focused on working out the entire body and tightening everything up. Target those trouble spots and start shaping the body you want now. You’ll be #goals by summer.
6. It’ll Improve Your Aerobic Endurance
Like your cardiovascular fitness, aerobic endurance deals with the same organs. By increasing your overall fitness, you’ll also be increasing your aerobic endurance. So, the fitter you get, the more you’ll be able to do: we’re talking longer runs, steeper hills – just pushing your body in general. Bonus: It’ll also take less time for your muscles to get over the pain that you put them through. Bye-bye day-after-leg-day feeling!
7. It’ll Make You Crazy-Happy
We’re loving this benefit: Exercise makes you next-level happy. A good workout means endorphins, which equals an incredible mood. (Never mind how confident you’ll be feeling as your body shape improves.) Group fitness classes are also a great way to meet like-minded people. And friends that train together, stay together, am I right?
